Share an experience that highlights your ability to build strong relationships.
I have built fruitful relationships with people in meaningful lead positions. One of them is my first boss. I started working as a sales associate the day I turned 16. There were three managers at the time. The main manager who was also captain of the district for all the stores in that area was the one who hired me. I remember one of the other managers being so impressed that this manager hired me, because this particular manager is very picky. My initial impression of my boss was that she was blunt, kind of mean, and incredibly demanding. I honestly thought she hated me and that I was never doing enough, because I would never get hours. A lot of people around me hated her as they felt the same way I did. Instead of hating my boss, I let this push me to get on her good side. With some patience and hard work, I started doing numbers with my sales and even made it to top seller a couple weeks. More hours were being added to my schedule, and she would even call me in on my off-days. My boss and I began to build a sturdy relationship as I proved that she could depend on me and she showed that she rewarded such behavior. I ended up working there for 2 years, and becoming one of her most trusted employees. I left for almost 6 months due to a more opportunistic job that was offered to me, but we still kept in touch even after I left. Now that I'm in college, I've recently been re-hired by her to work when I'm back home as a seasonal worker. This experience goes to show that strong relationships require a strong effort by both parties, and an understanding that a relationship that brings prosperity is one built on reliability.

Have you had sales or account management experience?
Working in retail for 3 years and spending a summer as social media marketing intern granted me admirable experience in both sales and account management. While working in retail I learned how to offer five-star customer service while simultaneously using my ability to promote, persuade, and convince to close sales. As for my summer internship as a social media marketer, I became familiar with data analytics, constructing creative briefs, web design, launching campaigns, and essentially building a brand.
