How do you build rapport with someone you've never met over DM?
I'd open with something genuine — a real compliment on their store, content, or community, not a template. Then I'd lead with value, maybe a sample or a relevant observation, before ever mentioning a pitch. People can smell copy-paste. I'd keep it short, conversational, and human. The goal of the first DM isn't to sell . it's just to get a reply.

How would you use social media to build relationships with businesses and get them excited about a brand?
I'd lead with the product — send boxes to buyers and retailers, let them have the 'wait, this actually tastes like candy?' moment publicly. Then I'd create content that makes businesses picture Hormbles on their shelves — 'the gym that stocked these first' type energy. I'd also lean hard on the RXBAR founder story because that name opens doors. Basically, make them feel like they're missing out.
