Before trying to fix anything, I would take a steo back to truly figure out the root of the problem. I would ensure that the "bug" isn't a misunderstanding, and then make sure to follow a standard, structured approach. When documenting, I would make sure to attach visuals for clarity and log the issue properly, so that software devs can understand.
