Home From College is a genius concept. As a recent college graduate, I am recognizing the difficulties of applying to jobs in here all, but especially jobs in which I am passionate. I want to contribute to a company such as this because it gives college students and recent college graduates, hope! Hope is so important during the uncertain times of college and post-grad, and this company makes it a reality.

I, along with a colleague, managed a Twitter Chat for GLSEN in 2018. This Twitter Chat was a celebration of sorts for a movement called “Here Black and Queer”. As a GLSEN Student Council member, I organized a Twitter chat and facilitated conversations with Black and queer populations from around the world. I came up with talking points from self care tips, to how it truly feels to be marginalized in areas of race, gender and sexuality. In doing so, I created a space for people like me, by people like me. Here Black and Queer is still alive to this day, and I am so proud to have helped create this movement and for the incredible impact it has caused.

My design philosophy is to always be inspired. You can find inspiration anywhere! I find inspiration on Pinterest, scrolling on Tiktok/Instagram and even just walking down the street. Inspiration is everywhere!
