What interests you most about being a campus correspondent for Baller Alert?
What interests me most about being a campus correspondent for Baller Alert is the opportunity to join a new creative community while sharing the experiences and perspectives of students on my campus. I enjoy connecting with people and being involved in spaces where culture, trends, and conversations are constantly evolving, so the chance to contribute to a platform that highlights music, celebrity news, and campus life is really exciting to me.
As a sophomore at Hampton University, I’m surrounded by a vibrant and diverse student body that is always discussing the latest cultural moments, fashion trends, and viral topics. Being a campus correspondent would allow me to capture those authentic reactions and experiences while representing the energy of an HBCU campus. I’m especially excited about the opportunity to tell stories from a student perspective and highlight the voices and creativity of my peers.
I’m also interested in the personal growth that comes with the role. Joining a new community of ambassadors would allow me to collaborate with students from other campuses, learn new skills in content creation and social media marketing, and gain experience working with a well known digital media brand. Most importantly, I’m excited about having new experiences, stepping outside my comfort zone, and using my creativity to produce engaging content that resonates with students while helping grow the presence of Baller Alert on campus.

How would you create engaging content that resonates with your campus community?
To create engaging content that resonates with my campus community, I would focus on highlighting the authentic experiences and culture that make student life unique at Hampton University. Being part of the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS) allows me to connect with a diverse group of ambitious students who are passionate about academics, service, and culture. Through MAPS, I interact with many students who are balancing rigorous coursework while also staying connected to social trends, campus events, and conversations happening in our community.
As a student originally from New York attending an HBCU, I am also part of a large community of New Yorkers on campus. Many of us share similar humor, music tastes, slang, and perspectives, which naturally creates engaging and relatable content. I would use that perspective to film short-form videos that capture real campus conversations, trending challenges, and reactions to breaking celebrity or hip-hop news that students are already talking about in dorms, the student center, and around campus.
