It succeeded because of three deliberate choices: First, I used a strong visual hook in the first 2 seconds to disrupt the user's scroll. Second, I used fast-paced, rhythmic editing and on-screen text to maintain a high retention rate. Finally, I left an open-ended question in the caption, which drove hundreds of comments and signaled the algorithm to keep pushing the video to new audiences.

My approach centers on creating a strong, universally engaging hook within the first 3 seconds, while tailoring the delivery style to match each platform's distinct culture. For TikTok, I focus on raw, high-energy, and trend-driven storytelling that feels native and unpolished. For Instagram, I lean into a cleaner, more curated aesthetic, optimizing for high-value shares and saves through Reels and carousels. Ultimately, I find the common ground by focusing on relatable, human-centric messaging, and then adapting the formatting, audio, and pacing to fit the platform.
