Social media has the biggest impact on people, especially the youth. Through social media applications, teenagers have been able to stay in contact with each other, weather it is via texts, pictures, or videos. This continuous communication has allowed them to share moments in their lives. It also allowed them to share their cultures. When sharing these moments of their lives, they all unite their ideas and ways of thinking. For example, if a group of people started talking about a movie series on social media, eventually they would reach an agreement about what they think of the movie. Teenagers are subconsciously uniting their way of thinking through social media, because especially in teenage years, they don’t want to seem different from the others. Social media can change the way a young person thinks, and it could be a harmful change. The youth need to have well established rules and ethics before they can be introduced to the outside perspective. In this way, I believe that social media has advantages and disadvantages, as it allows people to connect and share their experiences, however, it is also dangerous on young minds, as they need to develop correctly before being influenced by outside resources. I believe that with suitable monitoring, social media is the best form of communication that has ever been formed.
