JOVA

Business Development Intern (Health Food Startup)

How do you usually keep track of tasks, follow-ups, or deadlines when things are moving fast?

When things move fast, I turn into a slightly over-caffeinated air traffic controller—with color-coded lists, calendar alarms, and the occasional panicked sticky note on my laptop. I use Notion to track tasks like a digital brain, Google Calendar to make sure I show up to life on time, and a ‘reminders’ app that politely nags me like a productivity-obsessed best friend.

I also set up little systems—like follow-up trackers that make sure I don’t ghost a lead or forget to send that ‘thanks for the chat!’ email. Basically, if my to-dos were wild animals, I’ve built the zoo, hired security, and made sure the giraffes get fed on time

Tell us about a time you helped something run more smoothly, or solved a problem on your own.

In one of my past freelance projects, I was helping a small brand with content and client pitches, and noticed their process for managing leads was… let’s just say, held together by hopes and random WhatsApp messages. Instead of just doing what I was asked, I took initiative to set up a simple CRM using Notion—organized by lead status, follow-up dates, and conversation history. I even added automations using Zapier to remind them about hot leads.

The founder told me, ‘I didn’t know we needed this until you built it.’ That was a win. Not only did it streamline their outreach, but it also helped them close more clients—and gave me a quiet moment to feel like the behind-the-scenes wizard I aspire to be

What excites you about this role and working with JOVA?

What excites me most about this role is the chance to build something meaningful from the ground up with a brand that genuinely cares about wellness without the pressure of perfection. As someone who thrives in fast-paced, creative environments and loves building systems that actually work, I see this as the perfect fusion of business and impact.

I'm detail-obsessed (like, I organize my Google Drive for fun), I communicate like a human—not a corporate robot—and I genuinely enjoy figuring out what makes people say ‘yes.’ Plus, working directly with a founder at a scrappy, health-driven startup like JOVA? That’s a front-row seat to growth, innovation, and real learning—which, for someone like me who's all about becoming a sharper, better version of myself every day, is exactly where I want to be
