Can you provide an example of a successful social media campaign you led targeting a specific audience?
Yes - I work for a theater non-profit called Minnesota Fringe and we recently ran a campaign called How to Fringe. In response to feedback and findings from focus groups that our number of show options is overwhelming for new festival attendees, we created a newsletter campaign specifically designed for first-time attendees. Through ads targeted at performing arts lovers in Minneapolis (where the festival takes place), we’ve built a subscriber list of over 200 people. We also advertised the email sign up on our website (for people in our existing audience who may know people). The newsletter guides subscribers through essential parts of the festival, like where it happens, discounts to take advantage of, and how to navigate the website. Open and click rates confirm that people who signed up are staying engaged with our content and clicking through to learn more about the festival.

How do you stay updated with the latest trends in social media content creation?
It sounds simple, but I spend time on social media - I spend time scrolling through reels and seeing what's trending, I spend time engaging with competitors and making note of what's working for them, I spend time on LinkedIn and see what other digital creators and social media managers are talking about. The best way to stay updated on social media trends is by spending time on social media. Not only does it help you stay updated on trends, but it helps you predict trends.

Can you provide an example of a successful collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve marketing goals?
Yes - I lead communications for multiple non-profits and arts groups. This often involves wearing multiple hats, tasks including social media, communications, outreach, and development. For example, my work involves donor communications in one role. This is a team effort between myself, our Executive Director, and our Development Consultant, to create materials and strategy for donation drives. Collaboration with our educators is also necessary to get photos to include in these materials and to get help with doing mailings.
