Sales Intern for High Quality Merch Brand

Tell us about your experience in sales, and why you want to work for our brand to help us grow!
My experience in sales spans several roles where I've had to connect with people quickly, communicate value, and drive action. At the UIC Alumni Center, I led a team of student fundraisers, helped develop cold-calling strategies, and contributed to raising $150,000 in donor campaigns. The role taught me how to build trust fast, handle objections, and inspire others to do the same. As a Brand Ambassador for Mason Jar Gummy Co. at the American Beauty Show, I promoted products face-to-face, generated leads, drove booth traffic, and supported sales on the floor ,all while representing a brand with energy and professionalism. I've done the same for Seraphina Treasures, building brand awareness through authentic storytelling on social media. My marketing internships at Classifiedy and Enliven Collective have sharpened my ability to track what's actually working, analyzing KPIs, engagement, and conversions so I understand sales not just from the front lines, but from a data driven perspective too. I want to work for Couture because I genuinely believe in the power of a brand that stands for quality. With my background in ambassador work, relationship-building, and social-driven promotion. I want to help Couture grow its community and reputation. I'm customer-facing, adaptable, and I understand how to make people feel connected to a brand. That's what Couture deserves, and that's exactly what I bring.

Describe a time you successfully followed up to close a sale.
While working at UIC's Advancement Call Center, my job was to call alumni, build rapport, share facts about the university, and ask for donations with a cap of $200. On one call, I connected with a doctor alumni . Instead of jumping to the pitch, I had a genuine conversation about his time at UIC and how current donations were making an impact. When I made the ask, he donated $1,000. The moment reinforced something I carry into every sales conversation: people don't give to numbers, they give to connection.

How would you convince a client to choose our merch brand over competitors?
Couture sells identity. I would open by asking the client: "What do you want people to feel when they wear your brand?" That changes the conversation from price to emotion and perception, where the brand called Couture already wins. Couture isn't competing on price: it's competing on what the client's brand deserves. I would show Couture as a creative collaborator. Competitors process orders; Couture builds brand extensions and clients getting a partner who cares whether the end product looks right, not just ships on time.
