If you are trying to get feedback on your project from local businesses, what are some low cost ways you would use, to approach these people quickly?
I'd probably reach out through e-mail or phone call, in order to receive feedback from the business without incurring travel costs/time! Email also has the added benefit of allowing the business to answer you on their own time, ensuring that the feedback you get is indicative of their thoughts and not just their immediate free time.

Please share any relevant social media management experience and how you defined success in the role.
I used to manage a reasonably large social media account, and I defined my success by how positively I felt my presence there impacted my audience. I took only brand deals which I believed would not negatively influence my viewers, and tried to connect as genuinely as possible to leave a positive mark!
