What makes a recipe post stand out to you?

A recipe post stands out to me when it immediately shows why it matters to the viewer, not just what the recipe is. The strongest posts lead with a clear benefit or problem solved in the first few seconds, whether that’s saving time, saving money, improving flavor, or making something feel less intimidating. If I instantly understand what I’ll gain by watching, I’m much more likely to stay, save, or share. Visually, standout recipe posts are clean, dynamic, and easy to follow. I’m drawn to videos with tight edits, clear angles, and simple text overlays that guide me through the process without overwhelming me. I also appreciate when the recipe feels realistic and repeatable, using accessible ingredients and techniques that fit into everyday life rather than something that looks impressive but impractical. What really elevates a recipe post is personality and intention. When the creator adds context, shares why they love the recipe, or ties it to a real-life moment, it feels more human and memorable. Posts that invite interaction by asking a question, offering a swap, or responding to a common mistake tend to stand out because they feel like a conversation rather than a broadcast.

How would you create engaging cooking content for social media?

I’d focus on creating cooking content that feels genuinely useful first and entertaining second, because that’s what actually drives saves, rewatches, and comments on short-form platforms. Every video would start with a strong hook in the first one to two seconds that highlights a very specific problem or curiosity point people already have in the kitchen, such as fixing a common cooking mistake, saving money on groceries, or making meal planning easier. This immediately gives viewers a reason to stop scrolling and stay. From there, I’d keep the content fast-paced, visually clear, and satisfying to watch, using tight cuts, overhead or close-up shots, and simple on-screen text so the idea is easy to follow even without sound. I’d focus on realistic meals, approachable hacks, and everyday cooking scenarios rather than overly polished or aspirational recipes, so the content feels achievable and relatable to a wide audience. Clove would be integrated naturally by showing how it fits into real life, such as saving a recipe mid-video, instantly turning it into a grocery list, or using it to plan meals for the week. Instead of feeling like an ad, the app would clearly solve the problem introduced in the hook, making its value obvious through action rather than explanation. I’d also prioritize engagement by actively responding to comments, turning viewer questions into follow-up videos, and prompting interaction at the end of posts to encourage discussion. Finally, I’d treat content creation as an ongoing experiment, consistently testing different hooks, formats, and styles, tracking what drives retention and saves, and iterating quickly based on performance. The goal would be to create practical, personal cooking content people actually come back to, save, and share when they’re deciding what to cook.
