Interview Questions
Chasing Summer
UGC Content Creator for new skincare brand

HOw would you create content that is both polished and relatable to our audience?
I create polished yet relatable content by focusing on high-quality visuals without losing authenticity. That means good lighting, clean framing, and thoughtful styling, but still keeping the content grounded in real, everyday moments. I don’t over-edit or make things feel overly “perfect,” because people connect more with content that feels honest and attainable. I like to film in natural settings—my bathroom, bedroom, or getting ready in the morning—so it feels like something the audience could easily recreate. I’ll pair that with simple, aesthetic setups and clear storytelling, whether it’s a routine, a GRWM, or a quick product feature. I also talk through my experience in a conversational way, sharing real thoughts on texture, wear, and how the product fits into my routine.

Are you comfortable creating content for Tik Tok and Instagram? Are there other platforms that you think would resonate with this audience?
Yes, I’m very comfortable creating content for both TikTok and Instagram. Those platforms are where skincare content performs best right now—especially short-form videos like routines, GRWMs, before-and-afters, and product education mixed with lifestyle content. In addition to TikTok and Instagram, I think Pinterest could resonate really well with this audience, especially for skincare. People use Pinterest to search for routines, skin goals, ingredient education, and “that glowy summer skin” inspiration, so repurposing content there could help extend reach and longevity. I also think YouTube Shorts could be a strong secondary platform since it mirrors TikTok-style content but reaches a slightly different audience. Overall, I’d focus on TikTok and Instagram as the core platforms, then repurpose high-performing content across other platforms to maximize visibility and impact.

Do you feel stronger creating static posts (single photos or photo carousels), video content, or both? Why?
I feel strong creating both static posts and video content, but video is where I really shine. Video lets me show personality, movement, and how a product actually fits into real life, which feels more authentic and engaging—especially for platforms like TikTok and Reels. That said, I also love creating clean, aesthetic photo posts and carousels to complement videos. They’re great for highlighting details, styling, and giving people something easy to save or reference later. I like using both together so the content feels balanced and intentional—video to grab attention and photos to reinforce the look and vibe.
