What creators or brands do you think have really strong content right now?
I think brands and creators that feel authentic and self-aware have the strongest content right now. Duolingo is a big example because their content feels less like advertising and more like they genuinely understand internet humor and trends. I also think creators who balance personality with good pacing do really well, especially people who make content feel casual while still being clearly thought out. A lot of successful short-form creators right now are good at storytelling in a really condensed way, where even a 30-second video still has a clear hook, payoff, and personality.

What are your go-to editing techniques to make a video more engaging?
My go-to editing techniques are usually focused on keeping the pacing interesting without making the video feel chaotic. I like using quick cuts to remove dead space, adding captions to emphasize key moments, and starting with a strong hook in the first few seconds so people keep watching. I also think music and sound effects help a lot when they match the mood naturally instead of feeling forced. Depending on the video, I’ll use zooms, reaction shots, or visual overlays to keep things dynamic, but I try to make the editing support the content rather than distract from it.

What's an editing style you think is overused?
I think the super fast-paced “dopamine overload” editing style is getting pretty overused. The constant jump cuts every second, random zooms, subtitles flying everywhere, and sound effects layered on every movement can make videos feel exhausting instead of engaging. It definitely grabs attention at first, but after a while a lot of creators start looking the same. I usually find videos more memorable when the editing actually matches the creator’s personality or the mood of the content instead of trying to cram stimulation into every frame.
