How do you approach incorporating feedback from stakeholders into your design process?
When it comes to incorporating feedback from stakeholders, I see it as a collaborative process that’s about more than just making changes—it’s about understanding their perspective and finding creative ways to bring their vision to life. I like to start by having a conversation to really dig into the “why” behind their feedback. What’s driving the suggestion? Is it about improving functionality, aligning with the brand, or addressing customer needs? Once I understand that, I can approach the changes with purpose.I also find it helpful to show, not just tell. If there’s a suggested tweak, I’ll mock up a couple of versions to show how it could work. Sometimes, seeing the idea in action sparks even better conversations, and we might land on a solution that’s stronger than either of us originally imagined. One thing I’ve learned is to not take feedback personally—it’s not about me, it’s about the project. But at the same time, I’m not afraid to share my perspective if I think a suggestion might impact the design negatively. I’ll explain my reasoning and offer alternatives, so it feels like we’re working toward the same goal rather than compromising on creativity. Overall, it’s about being flexible, staying open, and always keeping the big picture in mind. I enjoy these back-and-forth moments because they often lead to a final product everyone feels proud of.

Can you provide examples of packaging designs you have created in the past?
I’ve had the opportunity to work on packaging-related projects that focus on both creativity and functionality. One of the most notable examples was during my time at Xoom Wireless, where I designed marketing materials that enhanced product visibility. While it wasn’t food packaging, the principles of impactful design—such as clean layouts, vibrant colors, and clear branding—were central to my work. Additionally, I have experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create cohesive designs for digital and print media. For instance, I worked on a collaborative project at UCLA’s Undergraduate Students Association Council to develop visually engaging event banners and promotional assets that increased student attendance by 40%. This experience involved meticulous attention to branding guidelines and audience preferences, which I know translates well to consumer packaging. If given the opportunity with CHUZA, I’d be excited to apply my design expertise to celebrate Mexico’s vibrant colors and culture. I’d focus on creating packaging that not only stands out on shelves but also tells a story—highlighting the authenticity and flavor of your snacks. My process involves research, concept development, and regular iteration to ensure the final design resonates with both the brand and its audience.
