What brands do you think are doing the best work on TikTok right now, and why?
Topicals: Topicals' approach to their advertising is truly top-notch. For example, they recently launched Faded patches that can be placed on acne scars and dark marks to help fade them. Their social media concept that they used was a boxing themed, and they had their models wear the stickers while fully dressed in boxing attire in a boxing ring. This was clever because it ties in with knocking out dark marks and having clear skin.
Poppi: Poppi clearly knows who their target audience is, which is the girly pops. If you look through their feed, it's bright, aesthetic, and eye-appealing. They create content like fridge restocks, they have content showcasing their products in the grocery stores, they make interactive content with their team in the office etc. These are all things that a lot of girls love to watch, or they do in their day-to-day lives, which makes it so successful. Their strategy helps emphasize knowing your target audience and catering content to them.

How do you decide what belongs on TikTok versus Instagram?
I am not against cross-posting on both platforms, but I tend to search up the type of content that I want to post on both platforms, and if it seems like one type of content will do better on a specific platform compared to the other, I will post on that platform. I also search up hashtags that resonate with the post I want to create and take inspiration from content that is performing well, and find a way to incorporate the content that I want to make for that platform so that the algorithm can pick it up and push it out to the right people.

If given a budget and full creative freedom, what kind of content would you make for Laughland?
People love to see how products resonate with them, and the solution that they get, so the first half of the content I will film will be someone drinking wine, coffee, eating foods that typically stain your teeth, and overall showing the constant impact of staining on their teeth. I will include the same person looking into the mirror and feeling slightly insecure and bothered by the lack of whiteness in their teeth, but then cut to a shot of Laughland, which will highlight how all ingredients are natural and how customers can have different formulas that fit their needs and goals.
Another example of content will be having a picture of a smile before treatment that then will transition into a graphic that shows the treatment process and formula utilized, followed by the outcome of the treatment. These will be more eye-appealing graphics with texts, arrows, and other components that make the images stand out to allow people to stop scrolling and wonder how they can have a similar smile or outcome.
