Can you share an example of a successful event you organized in the past and how it impacted someone else?

Last year, I helped organize a career mentorship workshop at my university aimed at empowering fellow students especially those in underrepresented fields like industrial chemistry to connect with professionals and learn practical skills beyond the classroom. I coordinated speakers, handled registrations, managed the venue setup, and even led part of the Q&A session. One of the students who attended later told me that the session helped her land an internship after applying the resume and interview tips she learned that day. She said it gave her the confidence she was lacking—and that message alone made all the planning worth it. It showed me how something as simple as creating a space for connection and knowledge-sharing can spark real opportunities for others.

What is an example of when you went out of your way to provide an act of kindness from someone who is not an immediate friend or family member?

A few months ago, I was walking through town when I saw a young man sitting quietly on a bench, looking overwhelmed. He had a small backpack and a sign that said he hadn’t eaten in two days. Most people walked by. Something told me to stop. I bought him a warm meal and a bottle of water, then sat with him and just listened. He shared that he had lost his job, couldn’t afford rent, and was struggling with his mental health. I connected him to a local shelter that also offered job support and followed up a few days later he had checked in and was getting help. It wasn’t a grand gesture, but I think what mattered most was treating him like a human being not just someone to pity or pass by. That experience grounded me and reminded me that kindness, when it’s genuine, can be life-changing for someone else.
