Which social media platforms do you use most often, and what do you like about their setup or analytics tools?

I use Instagram the most, both personally and for managing clients’ pages. I like how visual and intuitive it is, and I find its Insights dashboard super helpful for spotting trends quickly, like which Reels drive the most reach or what time followers are most active. I also use LinkedIn a lot because it’s great for organic reach and professional storytelling. Their analytics aren’t as detailed as Instagram’s, but I like how easy it is to see post impressions and engagement by audience type. Besides, I’ve been spending more time on TikTok lately too, mainly because it’s such a good platform for testing short-form ideas that can later be repurposed elsewhere. Its analytics give quick feedback on watch time and retention, which I find really useful for understanding what captures attention in the first few seconds.

What tools or strategies do you recommend for optimizing engagement across platforms?

To me, the best engagement strategy mixes creativity with data. I’d start by using insights from each platform (like Instagram Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, and Facebook Page Insights) to spot when your audience is most active and what types of content they interact with most. For tools, I like Later, Metricool, or Buffer for scheduling and cross-platform optimization. They make it easier to test different posting times and formats. I’d also use Canva or CapCut to create short, attention-grabbing visuals or videos since those consistently perform better across all platforms. On the strategy side, I’d focus on repurposing: turning one strong piece of content into multiple platform-specific versions — and encourage more interactive content like visually appealing carousels or reels. Consistency, storytelling, and replying quickly to comments also go a long way in building real engagement.

If something isn’t working properly (for example, Instagram posts aren’t sharing to Facebook), how would you approach diagnosing the issue?

If something isn’t working properly, like Instagram posts not sharing to Facebook, I’d start by retracing the connection between the two platforms. First, I’d check whether both accounts are correctly linked in the Meta Business Suite and that the permissions are still valid. Sometimes tokens expire or access settings change without notice. If everything looks fine there, I’d test a manual post to see if the issue is consistent or only happens with scheduled content. I’d also look into whether any recent app updates or third-party tool integrations could be interfering. Once I pinpoint the issue, I’d document the exact cause and fix it, then include a quick walkthrough in the audit report so the team knows how to troubleshoot it easily in the future.
