People are looking for that 2016 vibe this year, and your demographic will be the younger generation (20s, 30s). Making the design more fun, I think, would be very beneficial. Additionally, including actual pound cake in an advertisement may be a cute and fun way to push the brand, focusing on the mouth and lip gloss, of course.
