Graphic Designer with Animation Skills Needed

Why are you the right candidate to design ads and animations for Flings?
I believe that my variety in education and creativity makes me an ideal candidate to join the Flings Graphic Design staff.
During this Spring semester I became heavily involved in Indiana University’s Social Media Marketing Club. This past month all members of this club were given the opportunity to participate in a case competition for a company called Hosley to produce a marketing strategy and a social media related video in order to support their social media platforms. I created a team with my fellow peers and we spent a large amount of time and preparation recording a video and editing our content on Premiere Pro. My team then created a marketing strategy in which we presented to Hosley representatives. From the evaluation of our strategy and the success of our video we were awarded a prize for our efforts and success; while we were honored to receive a prize, the most rewarding aspect of this experience was the furthering of our skills in social media and the growth we gained from this experience. Gearing towards the future I am pleased to say that by calling upon skills I gained through these past experiences I can excel when it comes to fulfilling roles such as those found in positions like a Graphic Designer.
My passion for social media and creative design displays a strong commitment to finding new ideas and artistic techniques in order to tell a story and provide information in a visual form to best captivate any and all audiences.

Graphic Designer with Animation Skills Needed

How do you approach the creation of visually appealing animations for online ads?
My very first thought when creating an animation or creating an ad is how are we going to captivate our audience within the first 10 seconds that they are viewing our video. The attention span of an average person is 8 to 10 seconds, if you do not captivate your audience within this time you loose their impression. My goal is to retain customers' attention, in that initial stage of the animation or ad.
From this I do research to understand the customer's brand and their messaging. What do they support? What is their mission? What is their aesthetic? From the analysis of this information I then create an ad or animation based on the needs of the brand and while also pushing their boundaries.
