What makes a recipe post stand out to you?

A recipe post stands out to me when it feels real and easy to follow, not overly polished or intimidating. I love when the creator shows the process clearly and explains why they’re doing certain steps, whether through captions, voiceovers, or quick tips.

Seeing small details like substitutions, shortcuts, or even minor mistakes makes the recipe feel more approachable and doable. I’m also drawn to posts that tell a story, like why the meal matters, when they make it, or who it’s for. Whether it’s a comfort meal, a quick weeknight dinner, or something made for friends, that context makes the recipe more memorable. Good pacing, clear visuals, and practical tips make me want to save the post and actually come back to it later.

What stands out most is when a recipe feels achievable and inviting, something that makes you think, “I could actually make this,” instead of just watching it for inspiration.

How would you create engaging cooking content for social media?

Cooking is something I already do and something that has been a big part of my life growing up. Food has always been a way for me to connect with family, culture, and community, and that’s carried with me into college. I think at home cooking has become a big trend for students, especially as more people look for ways to eat better, save money, and still enjoy what they’re making. For social media, I would create content that reflects real college life, like quick meals between classes, easy dinners after long days, or cooking for friends in small spaces. I’d focus on making the process feel approachable and fun by showing simple recipes, substitutions, and moments that don’t go perfectly. I enjoy content that feels conversational and honest, whether through voiceovers, captions, or storytelling about why a meal matters. I’d also connect cooking to everyday moments like self care, hosting, or winding down, and show how Clove fits naturally into those routines. Overall, my goal would be to create content that feels authentic, relatable, and easy to recreate, while still being engaging and inspiring for people watching.
