One example was recently at a job. In food service, the goal is to make the customer happy and also sell more items than the original customer wanted. With this being said, at the end of a drive-thru order I would always ask "Would you like any of our appetizers: spring rolls, egg rolls, or cream cheese rangoon?" This resulted in our company selling many more appetizers than originally planned. I also gave personal insight if they had questions about the appetizers. Although this is a fast food position, I feel that the skills of selling a product can be used in a variety of environments.
