Can you describe a successful event you organized in a college setting?

One successful event I helped organize was Moms Day, where I served as a chair and played a key role in bringing in boutiques for the event. I coordinated with several local boutiques to set up their booths, ensuring they had the space and resources needed to showcase their products. This event was especially meaningful because it allowed sorority sisters to spend quality time with their moms while supporting small businesses. We made sure the experience was fun and memorable for everyone involved, with shopping, activities, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Additionally, another success I’ve been a part of is collaborating with brands for PR opportunities. We’ve worked with several makeup and energy drink brands to bring products to our sisters for review. These collaborations have been great because they allow our members to try and share their opinions on trending products. We’ve successfully promoted these brands on our TikTok and Instagram accounts, where we rate the products and create engaging content. Not only has this helped promote the brands, but it’s also brought our community closer by involving everyone in the process and giving them a platform to share their thoughts.

How would you approach building rapport with sorority members?

Building rapport with sorority members can be effectively achieved through my current roles and responsibilities within the organization. As the co-assistant vice president of new member education, I have the opportunity to work closely with new members, helping them feel welcome and integrated into the sorority. I would use this role to personally connect with new members by being a supportive resource, guiding them through the transition, and making sure they feel valued from the moment they join. By offering advice and helping them navigate events and responsibilities, I can build a foundation of trust and create lasting relationships.

Additionally, my position on the risk management team allows me to be involved in planning and organizing sorority functions, which is a great way to interact with members and bond over shared experiences. Whether I'm helping to select the venue, coordinate decor, or ensure that everyone has a good time, being part of these events allows me to connect with members on a deeper level and make their experiences memorable. By taking an active role in ensuring that events are fun, safe, and inclusive, I can demonstrate my commitment to the well-being of the group.

By utilizing both roles, I have the opportunity to interact with members in a variety of settings, whether it’s working with new members, supporting them through events, or being part of fun social functions. Being present, approachable, and genuinely involved will help me build strong rapport with the sorority members.
