How would you launch a new app on a college campus?
College is a unique beast, that's for sure. First of all what does the app do and who is it aimed towards?
When that can be determined, I'd focus first on first-year students and incoming transfers. We want this app to be synonymous with college life, so why not bring it to people who are are hungry to belong in a new community.
Next I would host a launch party on campus. Something sort of funny and ironic, with lots of snacks and opportunities to take fun pictures. The timing and theme of the event would need to coincide with what the app was about.
The last step would be to feature those students who attended the launch party in our social media posts and tag their personal accounts. Everybody wants 15 minutes of fame.
