If you were to start your own business, what would it be and why?
If I were to start my own business, I’d develop a mental wellness app dedicated to making mental health support accessible, affordable, and user-friendly. This app would focus on empowering users to take control of their mental well-being through mood tracking, daily journaling, and seamless access to professional support.
The app’s core feature would be a mood tracker, allowing users to log daily emotions, thoughts, and stressors, providing them with insights into patterns over time. Paired with a journal, this feature would encourage self-reflection, helping users make sense of their emotional highs and lows, and empowering them to proactively manage their mental health.
A unique aspect of this platform would be its connection to certified mental health professionals. Users could schedule sessions with licensed therapists or counsellors, choosing from various options tailored to their needs and budget. The app would offer affordable packages, as well as monthly or yearly subscriptions to encourage consistent, regular therapy. For those facing financial limitations, we’d work on partnerships with non-profits and community organizations to provide subsidized therapy.
Another key feature would include guided activities and self-help resources, like breathing exercises, mindfulness prompts, and habit trackers to encourage daily mental wellness habits. The app would aim to be a supportive companion for users on their wellness journey, providing encouragement, reminders, and resources for self-care along the way.
The mission would be to remove the stigma around mental health by making support readily available and reducing the barriers many people face in accessing mental wellness resources. By focusing on affordability, convenience, and consistency, the app would provide a valuable and inclusive tool for everyone, from those seeking daily check-ins to individuals looking for long-term therapy solutions.

What prior experience can you apply to the position?
I have relevant experience from my role as the Webmaster for IEEE SB RIT, where I was responsible for maintaining and updating the student branch website, ieeesbrit.com. I designed and implemented fully functional websites for various flagship events, including REX 5.0, an award-winning robotics program. For these projects, I used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build customized, engaging web pages that enhanced the online presence and usability for event participants. Additionally, my experience as a Student Mentor has honed my skills in web development by teaching web fundamentals like HTML and JavaScript to over 500 students. Through interactive, project-based sessions, I not only improved my skills but also learned how to break down complex topics and present them in a way that’s clear and actionable. These experiences make me confident in my ability to contribute effectively to your project, especially in creating an engaging, functional online ordering portal tailored to the needs of B2B clients.
