How would you create an engaging food review?

I live at OSU and am always out trying new spots with friends. Being so involved on campus, I know what students love and can share honest, fun reviews people actually trust.

How do you engage viewers when filming product showcases?

When I film product showcases, I focus on making it feel less like an ad and more like a friend showing you a cool find. I hook viewers in the first 2–3 seconds with something relatable or curiosity-driven like, “Okay wait — a protein drink that doesn’t taste like protein??” or “POV: you’re trying to drink more water but you’re bored of plain water.” That scroll-stopping opener gets attention fast. Visually, I keep shots dynamic — quick cuts between in-store shelf shots, grabbing the bottle, close-ups of the label (zero sugar, protein, benefits), and then lifestyle clips at home (post-workout, in my bag, on my desk). I use natural lighting, crisp angles, and movement (picking it up, opening it, pouring it over ice) so it feels immersive and not static. Personality is big too. I talk to the viewer, not at them, like we’re on FaceTime. I share real reactions during taste tests, describe the flavor in a fun, specific way, and connect it to situations they relate to — busy days, workouts, classes, errands. That mix of strong hook, aesthetic visuals, and genuine, relatable commentary keeps people watching and makes the product feel like something that fits naturally into their life.
