Can you share a funny or awkward translation moment you've experienced?
As I speak both in English and Russian daily both in personal and professional settings, such funny or awkward moments might occur quite often. For example, once I asked in social gathering with new Erasmus students "Am I hot?", thinking in Russian. Everyone was answering awkwardly "Yeah...", "Sure". Then I laughed and explained, that I was feeling a bit dizzy and actually asked myself this question, but ended up saying it outloud in English. If literally translating in Russian this means "is it hot here?", not "Am I sexy?".
