What's one brand killing their social strategy? Why?

Pepsi's social strategy has been deemed ineffective and out of touch with its target audience on multiple occasions. One notable example was the 2017 Pepsi commercial featuring Kendall Jenner. The ad portrayed Jenner joining a protest and seemingly diffusing tension by handing a can of Pepsi to a police officer, which was met with backlash and accusations of trivializing social justice movements. The ad was widely criticized for being tone-deaf and insensitive, as it seemed to co-opt serious social issues for commercial gain. Their attempts to create viral campaigns or jump on social media trends often feel forced and inauthentic, failing to resonate with consumers.

In your opinion, which brand is crushing it on social media right now?

In my view, cosmetics are at the top of the hierarchy, especially Kylie Jenner's products. It is well advertised across all social media platforms, which allows it to be presented and catch the attention of all social media users to use her product. Using social media to promote a product is a good marketing strategy because it connects people worldwide.
