How do you define and measure success for a social media account?
Success for a social media account is defined by how well it meets the specific goals set by the individual or organization managing it. These goals can vary widely, all ranging from building brand awareness and growing a following, to increasing engagement, driving website traffic, generating leads, or boosting sales. To measure success, one must track key performance metrics such as reach, impressions, follower growth, engagement rate (likes, comments, shares), click-through rates, and conversions. The most effective approach is to align these metrics with the account's goals, for example, focusing on engagement rates for community building or tracking sales and link clicks for e-commerce. Tools like Instagram Insights, Facebook Business Suite, or Google Analytics can provide the data needed to assess performance. Ultimately, success is not just about numbers, but about whether the account is connecting with its audience and delivering its mission and values to the appropriate people.

Can you walk us through a successful social media campaign you've managed in the past?
One of the most successful social media campaigns I led was during my time as Marketing Director for NOTELOVE Boston, where I planned and promoted a national virtual concert across all chapters of the organization. I coordinated marketing efforts across Instagram, Facebook, and email to build excitement and drive attendance, creating shareable graphics, countdown stories, and spotlight posts on student performers. The campaign was a huge success, featuring over 45 student learners and drawing in more than 300 live viewers from across the country. What made it effective was the way it combined strong storytelling, clear branding, and a unified push across all chapters. I made sure the content felt personal and community-driven, which helped gather genuine engagement and enthusiasm. The experience showed me the power of thoughtful, strategic content in building momentum and bringing people together around a shared cause

How do you stay updated on the latest social media trends and incorporate them into content strategies?
I stay updated on the latest social media trends as I am chronically online. But not only that, I am up to date with influencers and celebrities as I regularly scroll through TikTok’s For You page and Instagram Reels, paying close attention to trending audios, formats, hashtags, and meme styles. I also follow strategy content creators and newsletters like to get insight on what’s performing well across platforms. As a social media content manager for My Wellnest Consulting, I will spot a trend, I don’t just copy it, and I will think about how it can be adapted to align with a brand’s voice, values, and goals. For example, during my time as Marketing Director for NOTELOVE, I’d remix trending sounds or formats to highlight student stories or upcoming events in a way that felt timely and authentic. Staying on top of trends means more than just being reactive; it’s about creatively translating them into content that feels intentional and true to the brand!
