What is your experience With Creating Social MEdia Content
I have experience creating short-form social media content focused on engaging and informative storytelling. I regularly create videos for platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where I plan content ideas, film, edit, and write captions designed to capture attention quickly and keep viewers engaged. My content often focuses on topics relevant to students and young audiences, such as study tips, productivity, and helpful tools for school. I focus on strong hooks, clear visuals, and relatable messaging to make the content both valuable and entertaining. Through creating content consistently, I’ve learned how to follow trends, understand what performs well on different platforms, and adapt my content to reach and engage a wider audience.

Walk us through how you'd build a content calendar from scratch
If I were building a content calendar from scratch, I’d start by understanding the brand’s goals, target audience, and overall voice. This helps determine what type of content will resonate most and what the brand is trying to achieve, whether that’s increasing awareness, engagement, or conversions. Next, I’d brainstorm a few core content pillars—such as product highlights, educational or informative posts, entertainment or trend-based content, and community-focused posts. Having clear content categories makes it easier to stay organized and maintain variety. Then I’d research current trends and competitors to see what’s performing well in the space. From there, I’d map out posts on a weekly or monthly calendar, making sure to balance different types of content while staying flexible enough to jump on trends.

Show us a brand you think is killing it on social and tell us why
One brand I think is killing it on social media is Duolingo. Their content stands out because they fully embrace internet culture and create entertaining, meme-style videos that feel native to platforms like TikTok rather than traditional advertising. They’ve built a strong brand personality through their mascot, Duo the owl, and consistently post humorous, chaotic, and trend-driven content that resonates with Gen Z audiences. Instead of focusing only on promoting their product, they focus on storytelling and entertainment, which makes people actually want to watch and share their videos. A great example is when they ran a campaign jokingly “killing off” their mascot, which sparked memes, discussions, and massive engagement across social media. The campaign generated huge attention and helped grow their TikTok following dramatically. ()What makes their strategy effective is that they understand their audience, participate in trends quickly, and maintain a consistent brand voice. Their content feels authentic, funny, and highly shareable, which keeps their audience engaged and continuously talking about the brand.
