Can you share an example of your project management skills?
Last year, we had a client whose waste collection routes were a mess—late pickups, overtime costs, and drivers frustrated with constantly changing schedules. I took over and:
1.Mapped out the problem: Spent a week riding along with crews, tracking actual service times vs. plans, and identifying bottlenecks (turns out, two "15-minute" stops were taking 45+ minutes due to access issues).Redesigned the routes:
2. Worked with drivers to reshuffle the schedule based on real traffic patterns (not just GPS estimates), and got the client to adjust pickup times at problem sites.
Results: Cut overtime by 30% in the first month, and reduced customer complaints to zero. The drivers actually thanked me because they weren’t stuck working unpaid extra hours anymore.
