Can you provide an example of a successful brand partnership you've previously negotiated?
While completing my fellowship at Colab - a program offering microinternships - I successfully negotiated a strategic partnership with roam.college, a platform dedicated to supporting international students with essential services such as visa applications, insurance, credit cards, and housing. After identifying potential synergies between Colab's internship opportunities and roam’s mission to simplify the international student experience, I proactively reached out to roam’s founders. Through discussions, we recognized a clear alignment in our goals: enhancing international students' transition into academic and professional life. How do you ensure your pitches are tailored to resonate with different brands' values and objectives?
I thoroughly research each brand to ensure my pitch resonates deeply with their values and objectives. I begin with high-level research, carefully reviewing their website, social media presence, and recent initiatives. Then, I look for specific opportunities where my pitch aligns directly with the brand's identity. This might include analyzing interviews or videos featuring the founder discussing core values or examining causes the brand actively supports. Additionally, whenever possible, I try connecting directly with someone from within the organization to gain further insights, making my approach even more personalized.
