What tools do you prefer for designing marketing assets and why?

I usually prefer Canva for designing marketing assets because it’s really easy to use but still lets me create clean, on brand, and visually appealing content quickly. It’s especially helpful for social media graphics, event promotions, and anything that needs to look polished but also get done efficiently. I’ve also used Adobe tools a bit, and I like them for more detailed or custom designs, but I tend to go with whatever best fits the project. Overall, I like tools that let me balance creativity with speed, while still making sure the final product is engaging and effective.

What graphic design work have you done in the past?

I’ve done a lot of graphic design work through Canva, especially for social media, branding, and event promotion. I’ve created things like Instagram posts, flyers, themed event graphics, and marketing materials through my involvement in my sorority and other campus organizations, so I’m really comfortable designing content that’s both eye catching and on brand. I also have experience thinking about design from a marketing perspective, making sure visuals not only look good but actually get engagement and communicate the message clearly. How would you onboard your peers onto a new platform?

I’d keep it simple and focus on showing why it’s actually worth using, not just how it works. I’d introduce it through my sorority and friends and connect it to something relevant in their lives so it feels useful right away. I’d also help them get started with quick demos or just walking them through it in person, and add a small incentive to make it more exciting. Then I’d keep people engaged by sharing tips and showing how others are using it so it feels natural to stick with it.
