How do you identify authentic engagement over follower count?

A way to identify authentic engagement over follower count would be to validate metrics beyond just the follower count. For example, taking a look at how many likes and comments a creator gets on average. Are these comments negative or positive engagement? Next, you could identify brand deals and partnerships that a creator has worked with to give insight in to the relevancy of a brand and how well the last campaign went.
