In a given week, your responsibilities range from updating financial models, to scheduling with external partners, to tracking inventory movement, to prepping decks for a marketing meeting. How do you prioritize and execute when everything is urgent?

I pride myself on my ability to manage my time. When everything is urgent, I make sure to first schedule time to create a plan for myself. I start by considering other people's availability. Meeting with other people is dependent on when they are available, so scheduling that out and setting up meetings would come first. I would then gauge the amount of time it would take to complete each activity, starting with tasks that would take me less time to complete. In my opinion, it is crucial to first create a plan of action and adjust it as necessary. Having multiple responsibilities can be overwhelming, so breaking each task down and tackling subtasks to complete a larger project is critical.

Tell us about a time when maintaining accurate data was crucial to your role. How did you ensure the data stayed clean, up to date, and aligned across systems or teams?

During my time at Sysco, my mentor got laid off. There was no one else who had the data and information necessary to understand the reasoning behind the formula, given that he was the one who was in charge of that information. I was tasked with presenting the information to the rest of the marketing team in order for them to understand the formula and its importance in marketing. Given how important this task was, I made sure to have all of the correct data, step-by-step guides, and made it easy to transfer between teams. Presenting inaccurate information would have set up the entire project for failure, so it was critical to clean up the data and make sure it was as up-to-date as possible to provide the most accurate information to the team.

Walk us through a time when you built or managed a complex spreadsheet system to track operational or financial data.

During my past internship at Sysco, I was tasked with creating a dashboard that analyzed product sales during specific periods, specifically holidays. I created a formula to determine the demand for the item during those periods. I then made a dashboard on Tableau, which is still used to determine which items the company should be promoting during certain time frames.
