What's three important aspects you consider when adopting a new social app into your daily screen time?
I always have three important things I look for when adopting a new social app to my daily screen time and often I rid of social apps if they are not meeting this criteria:
1. Am I learning anything: When adopting a social app I know I might spend large amounts of time scrolling and swiping and to in some way justify this time I ask if I am learning anything because at least then I might not feel as though I am wasting time but rather adding something valuable.
2. Navigation: One thing I think I and everyone else looks for a social app is the ease of navigation. If apps are to complicated to navigate I have a hard time adopting them. If I want to consume content I want to make sure I can consume it easily.
3. Engaging: When I enter a new social app I make a judgement of how engaging the platform is and specifically how consistently engaging it is. For example an app like BeReal is engaging upon posting the photo and then far less engaging after it is posted. There are no videos and no specific interests of mine once the photo is posted.
