How do you ensure your design work aligns with a brand’s tone and audience?

I ensure my design work aligns with a brand’s tone and audience by researching the brand to understand its messaging and target audience. I review existing brand design materials, such as logos, color palettes, typography, and previous designs, and make a branding palette to maintain consistency with brand identity. Throughout the process, I give constant progress checks to receive feedback to ensure that the final product meets client expectations.

Describe a time you handled a challenging client communication.

A time I handled challenging communication with a client was when I was in charge of a deliverable that was meant for a guest speaker coming for an event. The speaker was not satisfied with the design of the deliverable and was constantly asking for it to be changed through my supervisor. This was challenging because of the middle man conversation. In order to resolve this and make the client happy, I asked directly what they liked about the design and what they didn't like so we could focus on what to keep and what to remove. In the end, following the more detailed feedback of the client streamlined the progress and satisfied the client. This experience reinforced the importance of clear communication and proactive follow-up when managing client relationships.
