It is difficult to determine authenticity in the social media world right now since everyone likes to show their best side. Online authenticity is showing "flaws" or "imperfections", being real about things that don't work out instead of only bragging about the things that do

How do you create FOMO and social proof?
By marketing a product that is deemed necessary, you inherently create a feeling of incompletion in someone who does not have this product, you have to make them feel the product is not a want but a need. In terms of marketing, employing someone who is a big deal or famous to some degree also creates a feeling of social proof

Apologize for their negative experience and offer a way to make up for it, for example: shipping them a different product to try out, offering to refund for shipping/product in general
