Why are you interested in becoming a Clio Snacks Lead Ambassador?

I am excited about becoming a Clio Snacks ambassador because I look to diversify my skillset by gaining marketing experience and build deeper connections with my Spelman sisters.

As a lead ambassador at Spelman, my in person marketing strategy would focus on having Clio's products at important social and student organization events. Spelman College hosts bi-weekly "Market Fridays" in which students from Spelman College, Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University, and Morris Brown all come to be introduced to new vendors. These events attract the perfect audience to engage with freebies from Clio Snacks.

Additionally, during the Fall semester, Spelman and Morehouse host a joint Homecoming. Homecoming week events consist of large vendor markets, on-campus parties, and a large tailgate. These events receive participation from majority of the student body of both schools, outside HBCU students, and HBCU alum. Having Clio Bars available as a refreshing drink during these hot events, would make it a memorable part of a beloved tradition.

Finally, during times when no on-campus events are taking place, I can connect Clio to diverse student groups through bringing its products to the meetings of registered student organizations.

My online marketing strategy would focus on promoting Clio both through user testimonies and inspirational imagery. When consumers are considering a new product, they tend to resonate well with hearing from someone who has experienced its benefits. I plan to encourage people to purchase Clio Greek yogurt bars by sharing the reasons users love them in short TikTok (reel) video formats.

Another powerful form of advertising that I would like to utilize is aesthetic wellness imagery. In posting photos and clips of Clio's products alongside wellness and aspirational activities, for example, as a treat after a hike or being held in a photo while studying a nice environment, viewers will begin to connect Clio to becoming a higher version of themselves. Additionally, in creating imagery that is not focused on myself, but instead applicable to anyone, my audience will start to visualize themselves as someone who consumes and purchases Clio Snacks.

What clubs/organizations are you involved with at your school?

At Spelman I am a member of two on campus scholars programs: The Health Careers Opportunities Pipeline Preparation Program (HCOPPP) and Living and Learning in an Interdisciplinary Networked Community of STEM Scholars (LINCS). Through these programs I have become a leader in the pre-health career and STEM community at Spelman. Additionally, I lead the planning and implementation of our yearly on-campus HCOPPP Health Fair.

I am also involved in numerous student organizations. This year, I serve as the President of the Spelman Pre-Nursing Organization. We hold monthly events (which Clio Snacks would be a great addition to) and often collaborate with the six other Health Careers student organizations.

I am also a member of the Health Careers Club and Protecting Our Student's Safety Everyday (POSSE) an initiative that works with on campus public safety. I no longer stand on these organization's executive boards, but I have maintained close relationships with their current leaders.

Additionally, I am a member of Sisters Keeping it Real Through Service (SKIRTS), a community service organization with a high social presence and level of online engagement. Hosting a collaborative event between SKIRTS and Clio would ensure that Clio bars are reaching high visibility at Spelman.

We'd love to get to know you, tell us a little bit about yourself (i.e what are you studying, what are your hobbies, what do you like to do on your free time, etc)

My name is Cayla Ellerbe. I am a senior Health Sciences major at Spelman College on the Pre-Nursing track. After graduation I plan to pursue a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) and become a Nurse Practitioner. Following nursing school, I aspire to pursue a Ph.D. in Public Health or Nursing to strengthen my ability to apply scientific evidence toward improving healthcare policies and interventions.

In my free time I enjoy going out to eat with my friends, trying out new coffee shops, making fun TikTok's, playing electric guitar, and drawing.
