How do you stay updated on Instagram and TikTok trends?

I’m on both apps daily anyway, so I naturally see what’s trending on my FYP and Reels. I follow a mix of big creators and smaller niche accounts in spaces I’m interested in - fitness, food, lifestyle. I also pay attention to what sounds are blowing up and which formats keep showing up repeatedly. When I see the same type of video three times in a row, I know it’s a trend worth noting. Plus my teammates and friends are always sending stuff to our group chats, so I catch trends through that too.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

What attracts you to influencer and social media marketing?

I like the strategy behind it - figuring out what makes people stop scrolling and actually engage. As a D1 athlete, I’m used to analyzing performance and adjusting tactics, which translates well to testing content and seeing what hits. I’m also constantly on social media myself, so I already pay attention to what brands are doing well and what feels forced. Plus, I think it’s cool how you can track results in real time and pivot quickly, unlike traditional marketing. It’s creative but also data-driven, which appeals to how I think about problems.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
