Female Founder World
Content Marketing & Event Intern
What's one content area of opportunity you'd first implement after starting this position?
Before transferring to Temple University, I was a member of the first ever marketing committee for The Women’s Network at the University of Maryland. In this position, I had to become very familiar with successful tactics when trying to grow our membership. Beginning with about 10 members, I was able to grow our community to over 200 women on campus. From the beginning of my time on the social media marketing team, we were able to increase our Instagram following to over 2000 people. With much trial and error, I found that the most important strategies to growing a brand on social media is by creating interactive and engaging content while maintaining a consistent brand. For example, interactive polls and surveys were extremely helpful when understanding what the members of the organization wanted to gain from The Women’s Network. In terms of a consistent brand, I made sure that the posts flowed well together. This allowed us to create a brand and increase engagement.
