What creators or brands do you think have really strong content right now?
Creators and brands that perform really well right now are the ones that consistently understand platform-native storytelling and audience behavior. Creators who focus on relatable, story-driven short-form content—especially those who hook viewers quickly and deliver a clear message—stand out the most.On the brand side, I admire those that feel less like traditional advertising and more like native content, often using UGC-style videos, humor, or real-life demonstrations. Brands that adapt quickly to trends while maintaining a consistent identity tend to perform very strongly across TikTok and Instagram Reels.Overall, the strongest content comes from those who balance creativity with strategy, making videos that are both engaging and easy to connect with emotionally.

What are your go-to editing techniques to make a video more engaging?
My go-to editing techniques focus on retention and clarity. I prioritize strong hooks in the first 1–3 seconds, then use fast but intentional pacing to keep attention throughout the video. I often use jump cuts to remove pauses and keep the energy high, along with text overlays to reinforce key messages and make the content easy to follow even without sound.I also use sound design strategically—adding subtle effects and choosing audio that matches the mood of the video. To increase engagement, I highlight key moments visually, vary shot angles when possible, and structure the video in a way that builds curiosity and keeps viewers watching until the end.

What's an editing style you think is overused?
One editing style I would say is overused is relying too heavily on fast-paced transitions and constant visual effects without a clear purpose. While effects can be useful for engagement, I’ve noticed that some content becomes overwhelming and distracts from the actual message. In my opinion, the most effective short-form videos use intentional pacing, clean storytelling, and editing that enhances the content rather than distracts from it. Simplicity, when done well, often performs better and feels more authentic to the viewer.
