Originally from New York, I'm a senior at Tulane University majoring in Communications with a minor in English. During my time at Tulane, I have been on the Dean’s list every semester while also holding part-time jobs and internships. Outside of my course work, I write for The Crescent, Tulane's Lifestyle magazine, and run Focus on Fashion, a club dedicated to helping students connect with experts and find careers in the industry. Last summer, I worked as a Content Creation Assistant for PepsiCo. In this role, I read and watched countless scripts and short films to select content that aligns with the brand’s values and image. Additionally, I enjoyed watching The Show, a documentary about The Weeknd’s Super Bowl Halftime LV Performance, come to life. This unique experience provided me with endless insight into the production process. My experience at Pepsi allowed me to understand better the core values of a brand and how to cater to its image. During my sophomore year, I interned at Where Y’at Magazine, the premier local magazine for New Orleans food, culture, and entertainment. Last January, I created a website called The College Kid Guide that features over 50 college town and city guides written by current students for prospective students. The concept came from my Where Y’at article, “A College Kid’s Guide to New Orleans,” published in the September 2020 issue. I developed the website layout and design and edit and format incoming articles from writers nationwide. My background also includes an internship at Refinery29, where I assisted blogger Alyssa Coscarelli in content creation and market research. I used industry-specific software to lay out each piece before publication and wrote several articles which were published. During the summer of 2020, I interned with fashion and lifestyle influencer Katie Sands. I created content for her social media channels, strategized to build her following, and wrote blog posts for her website, Honestly Kate. These experiences have allowed me to develop strong writing, editing, research, and sales skills while working to meet tight deadlines. My personal interests include fashion and beauty, acting, photography, and travel. Although I have so much to learn, I am confident that I could contribute immediately and add value to your team.

What role does journaling play in your life?

Although I've had the most fulfilling college experience, I've also had my fair share of mental health challenges. I've dealt with anxiety for most of my life, and developed depression early on in my freshman year. Since then, I've started therapy and have incorporated journaling into my everyday routine. I am religious about it; journaling grounds me. I wake up every day and write down three things I'm grateful for, three things to look forward to, and three things I can work on. It's become increasingly important to me to start each day on a positive note. Then, I write out a list of my tasks for the day. Everything seems much more manageable and less intimidating on paper. To me, there is nothing more satisfying than crossing off a task once you've completed it, and watching your to-do list dwindle. I'm a very visual learner, so having something tangible to look at really puts my mind at ease. Not only has journaling served as a creative outlet, but it has also done wonders for my stress and anxiety in college and beyond. Also, it's really rewarding to look back at my journal and reflect on my time at Tulane. I can see how much progress I've made!
