My current personal tiktok was created in 2019, so I have continued to follow and watch many people, which has allowed me to branch out into many different areas of tiktok. I’m active in BookTok, cooking recipies (both small creators and large), general silliness of real life videos (average people posting and video goes viral, not specifically content creator), makeup, celebrities or well known influencers, TCG, etc. I can definitely be described as “chronically online”

I scroll all the time on tiktok, so see lots of trends on my fyp as they come up. I have seen trends become big, and feel on many occasions I saw the “original video” that began the trend, simply from scrolling so much. I’m also in random corners like the reading side of tiktok, or streamer side, where different “sides” of social media have their own trends.

I pay attention to the sound used in the video, and think of the likelihood of it being able to be used by more than one niche. By clicking on the sound, you can also see how many videos have been made with it, which can be a good indicator as well. Engagement in the comments is a good way to see if it’s being well received. Also checking when a specific video was posted, and comparing the numbers of engagement can show a lot.
