I crave meaningful conversation. It's what I love because it shows the potential of the human ability and builds connection in an age where distractions and weak-bonding is prevalent. And graduating from an online high school means that being able to differentiate between superficial and deep, insightful conversations has been particularly simple. When being forced to work from a remote environment, suddenly, one becomes more aware of their everyday interactions. The simple and short, to the lengthy and complex. To fulfil the goal of this task, I plan to use the conversation cards in a wide variety of settings – starting from myself alone, to family, to friends, and even strangers in a popular spot in my town. Recording all of these interactions will allow me to see what works and what does not work when it comes to meaningful conversation. I will look for thoughtfulness, integrity, and passion when it comes to meaningful responses. Small talk often lacks these things, focusing on the mundane and lacking real interest.

When providing feedback to others, I know the importance that genuine, detailed descriptions have in order to improve whatever they seek to improve. In order to reach this level of clarity, I first become cognizant of who is asking for my feedback. This is crucial in order to further tailer my responses to achieve maximum impact. For example, certain people appreciate details, while others seek a holistic overview. The next step is to understand the core of what is given feedback on. This is because the feedback in a critique during an art class would be different than the ones given during a math review study session. Finally, I make sure to adjust all feedback to the appropriate tone depending on the situation. This could be supportive and helpful, or even thoughtful and prudent.

This product testing opportunity for the Idea Citizen Conversation Cards – a product that has the ability to make a real impact on peoples' lives and my community – piqued my interest immediately. I am passionate about helping people find their interests and how they can work with themselves and others to positively change their life and community. These conversation cards will allow me to engage in real time conversations with friends, family, and others in my community. This is a stark contrast to other product testing opportunities where the job description is more one-sided and superficial. Furthermore, I always seek to improve my personal conversation and social skills, and this opportunity will allow me to do so. I am so excited to engage in a job which will actually generate a positive impact and meaningful conversations.
