Interview Questions
Robyn AI
Social Media Intern

What’s one brand or account that’s crushing TikTok/IG right now — and why?
Duolingo is absolutely crushing it on TikTok — and it’s a masterclass in how to turn a traditionally “boring” product into a culturally fluent internet icon. Why it's working: They post like creators, not a brand. The Duo owl isn’t just a mascot — it’s a chaotic, unhinged character that feels like it belongs on TikTok. Their content leans into absurdity, memes, and trending audios in ways that are totally native to the platform. They don’t over-polish. The videos feel spontaneous, raw, and funny — which performs better than ad-like content. It’s TikTok-first, not brand-first. Trend-jacking with brand relevance. They’re fast at hopping on trends and making them about language learning — whether it's Duo being jealous of Dua Lipa or reminding you (aggressively) to do your Spanish lesson. Character-driven storytelling. People follow for the personality, not the product. That’s what builds community and keeps them coming back.

Let’s say you’re in charge of making Robyn go viral. What’s your first move?
First move: Build Robyn’s viral identity by aligning the product’s voice with trending formats and creator-style content. I’d start by deep-diving into Robyn AI’s personality — what does Robyn sound like, what problems does it solve, and how do people feel when they interact with it? From there, I’d: Audit the competitive landscape: Look at similar AI or tech brands already dominating short-form content (e.g., ChatGPT, Notion, Arc Browser, etc.) — understand what’s working, and spot whitespace where Robyn can stand out. Craft a signature hook or content series: Viral growth thrives on repeatable formats. I’d brainstorm a few high-retention content series like: “I let Robyn plan my whole day” “Robyn vs. My Boss: Who does it better?” “POV: You wish your assistant worked like Robyn” Each would be built around trend-adapted audio, fast cuts, and strong personality. Post like a creator, not a brand: The first 5–10 videos would be personality-led (with someone from the team or a creator face), raw, and native to platforms like TikTok and Reels — not polished ads. Test & iterate fast: I'd track which content hooks, styles, and CTAs drive the most engagement and build Robyn’s online persona in real time with feedback loops. Plug into micro-communities: Tap into productivity, AI, startup, and Gen Z humor communities — not just with posts, but by commenting, remixing, and stitching viral content.
