How would you approach building relationships with potential business partners?
Building relationships with potential business partners is definitely the crucial part of this role. I believe that the key pillars of successfully building this business relationships with fitness studios are: specific targeting, value-driven communication, and relationship tracking. This is how I would approach them:
1) Specific targeting: I would start by clearly profiling the studios which Equipt wishes to partner with, as it is key that these studios align with Equipt’s target audience and their lifestyle. Ideally this studios would be places where Equipt’s potential customers are already working out in. Based on the profiling, I would then conduct thorough research to identify and prioritize studios by location and strategic fit.
2) Value-driven communication: Each interaction with a potential partner should bring value to Equipt and the potential partner. For this I would follow a pre-approved outreach script that would include gaps in which I would personalize the outreach message. Including inviting language that highlights the specific ways in which Equipt would solve a problem or enhance their client offering aligning with their brand identity. Then I would make sure to include value for both parts on every interaction, including draft proposals and follow-ups.
3) Relationship tracking: Finally, it is crucial to keep track of outreach to potential partners and the state of partnerships. For this I would create a CRM database as the one I created during my role last summer as an Influencer Marketing Intern. I would build a CRM spreadsheet that allowed me to keep track of all interactions, track responses, and schedule follow-ups. This would ensure potential partners feel taken care of and there is a system to track and schedule interactions.

Can you give an example of a successful outreach strategy you have implemented in the past?
Last summer I was an Influencer Marketing intern at ‘The Gratitude List’ which is a Belgium-based wellness brand. In this role I was in charge of putting together a CRM spreadsheet, outreach to influencers for potential partnerships, discuss partnership details, and update the shipment database accordingly.
Since the company was just getting started with the influencer marketing campaigns, I helped build the CRM spreadsheet from scratch. Adjusting the information columns and filters as necessary. I was able to make the process of finding an influencer, adding it to the CRM spreadsheet, outreaching, negotiating, and shipping, as smooth as possible.
An example of this is that I conducted daily research on potential influencers the brand could partner with. Ensuring they aligned with the target profile for the campaign and would resonate with the brand’s audience. Everyday I aimed to outreach to at least 30 potential partners, which I did in a standardized way creating an outreach script that was approved by the brand’s owner.
At the end, I was able to keep track of 300+ potential partner’s data and interaction status, conducting outreach and shipment management for 50+ influencer partnerships, which resulted in a 25% increase on commercial sales.

Through understanding the core messaging of the brand and its expression, I was able to build a response library consistent with the brand’s voice. Which allowed me to outreach to 300+ potential partner influencers, successfully interacting on behalf of the brand for 50+ influencer partnerships, which resulted in a 25% increase on commercial sales.
