Oddball Brand Ambassador - Community Sampling

This role involves approaching parents and families to offer samples. How comfortable are you starting conversations with people you don’t know? Tell us about a time you had to do this.
I am very comfortable starting conversations with people I don’t know, especially with parents and families. I babysat for several years and also taught dance at my local studio, which required frequent communication with parents about their children’s progress, schedules, and needs. In addition, I often represented the studio in the community by standing at our local shopping center, approaching parents, introducing the program, and handing out flyers to generate interest. These experiences helped me develop a friendly, respectful, and confident approach, making it easy for me to engage families, build trust quickly, and create positive interactions, skills that translate directly to offering samples and representing a brand in person.

If your goal was to get 200 families with kids to try oddball near a target store, where would you go and what would your sampling setup look like?
To reach 200 families with kids near a Target, I would sample along the main walkway between the parking lot and entrance, where families are passing with time to engage. The setup would be bright and kid-focused, with a clear “FREE SNACK FOR KIDS” sign, pre-portioned mess-free samples, and a small giveaway like stickers to draw children in while reassuring parents. Staff would use a friendly, permission-based approach and mention that Oddball is available inside Target to encourage purchase. I would also extend sampling through my community at Duke University by partnering with student clubs and campus events that attract local families, such as performances, cultural festivals, or game days, allowing me to quickly reach a large, family-heavy audience in a trusted, community-oriented setting.
