Interview Questions

SkinnyDipped

Retail Focused UGC

SkinnyDipped Profile Image

How do you hook viewers in the first 3 seconds of a retail video?

To hook viewers in the first 3 seconds, I’d open the loop with a relatable moment like “POV: you want a sweet treat but want to stay guilt-free.” This encourages the audience to keep watching to see what the guilt-free treat is.

How would you create engaging retail content ?

I would create short, casual in-store UGC that feels like a real snack run. I’d start with a hook like “POV: you want a sweet treat but want to stay guilt-free,” show the shelf and SkinnyDipped clearly, and film real decisions like comparing flavors and adding it to the cart. Text at the end like “Which flavor are you grabbing?” would encourage engagement. Closing with a bite or reaction at home ends the story while normalizing the purchase and making the product easy to find.

what haircare & beauty brands do you think are doing instagram best - and, why?

E.L.F. is the best of both worlds with a balance of aesthetic product shoots, tutorials, and playful posts. This is a brand that truly understands their consumer and balances their identity well.

Rhode is one of my favorite brand accounts, building a seamless feed with a great mix of influencer features, aesthetic product photos, and GRWM/ tutorial videos. Rhode shows that you don't have to sacrifice brand identity to include a bit of everything.

Monday is a brand that has a strong identity and sticks to it. Their account sticks strongly to the soft, clean-girl aesthetic and builds a vision board well. Their brand colors and editing style is seamless, making for a great feed.
