What skills do you have using video editing platforms?

I’m comfortable using mobile and desktop video editing platforms to create short-form social media content, especially for TikTok and Instagram-style videos. I have experience editing content using apps like CapCut and Canva, including trimming clips, adding text overlays, transitions, audio, captions, and trend-based formatting for short-form engagement. Through both personal content creation and academic PR projects, I’ve developed skills in organizing footage, identifying strong hooks, pacing videos for retention, and adapting content to match different platforms and audiences. During my PR campaign project for Pro Kids, The First Tee of San Diego, I helped create mock short-form social media content and campaign materials designed around audience engagement and storytelling. I’m also a quick learner when it comes to creative tools and enjoy staying updated on editing trends, AI tools, and evolving social media formats.

What experience do you have creating social media content?

I have experience creating social media content through both hands-on business work and academic PR projects focused on real brands and audiences. In my role as a Marketing & Operations Assistant at Dale’s Market, I created promotional social media content, designed marketing materials, and helped support customer engagement and brand visibility through digital content and visual merchandising. I also worked on a semester-long public relations campaign project for Pro Kids, The First Tee of San Diego, where my team developed a full PR campaign proposal for a real organization. A major part of the project involved creating mock social media content, including short-form video concepts, campaign ideas, captions, and platform-specific content designed to increase engagement and brand awareness. This experience helped me better understand storytelling, audience targeting, and how to create content that feels authentic rather than overly corporate. Outside of formal experience, I’m very active on TikTok and Instagram and naturally keep up with trends, editing styles, and the type of founder-driven content that performs well. I enjoy capturing candid moments, turning everyday situations into engaging content, and creating posts that feel personal, fast-paced, and relatable. I’m also comfortable filming and editing directly from my phone and adapting content quickly for different platforms and audiences.
